One week in and I’m firmly in the Grip of the ‘грип’ (grip)…that’s the Bulgarian word for flu. Damn and buggery. Thanks to Ivan for this. Perhaps I shouldn’t have done the cheek kissing thing with him when I arrived because he’s really crook and I think I may have got it from him. My head feels like a brick and whenever I bend down for anything, the whole room swims. And my stairs are so steep that I’m sure the atmospheric pressure changes on the way up and down, so each trip up and down sees my head spinning like a top and my ears popping like I’m in a plane.!!
Perhaps tonight I’ll give it the Rakia treatment…
I guess new country, new germs, but it’s slowing me a down a little and right now, I don’t have time for slowing down. I’ve still got two and a half floors to clean. And in true Sue Mercer style, I don’t like where the furniture is anymore so I spent yesterday moving furniture ( well, the stuff I could actually lift or push) and changing everything around in my living area. And everything that’s been stored away is now being brought back out into the living world and every item, down to the last CD, is covered in a nice thick layer of dust. Jesus, I hope I don’t get any guests at the moment…haven’t got anywhere to put anyone. 🙂
All this doesn’t mean I haven’t had time to get out and about a little and my fascination with the storks continues…something to do with being able to take close up pics I think.
I think it’s their size and their ability to live in the most precarious places. They really are huge, and when they fly over you, that’s when you can actually see how big they are and yet they choose to live on the top of power poles and very high, pointy roofs (or is it rooves).
I still haven’t been up the municipal office to say Hi to the Mayor and other folk I’ve not caught up with yet, and now I have a cold they may not want to see me anyway until I’m not infectious.
OK, That’s enough creative procrastination..the cleaning must go on
Get well soon, girlie!!! No more kissin’!!! ;o) xxxx
Hmmm, not that easy in Europe Ann Marie. It’s a kinda traditional thing to kiss on both cheeks when you meet friends, and who am I to fly in the face of tradition 🙂
Those storks are huge!
