The kamina is looking so damned good that I thought it deserved a page of its own.
Got back from Veliko Turnovo to find a rather rattled looking Ivan here with his gang of three……walked into the lounge area and this is what I found
Bloody magnificant isn’t it :o)
And yes, that’s the overworked, frazzled Ivan there obviously trying to get it finished before I got back……and of course he didn’t, but I’m just happy that it’s 7/8 of the way there. He’s back Monday…..or Tuesday (not about to commit himself you see) to carry out some finishing touches and to light the first fire. He wants to do this, I suppose just to make sure it’s working as it should.
I’m painting it the same colour as the ceiling (beige), and with the black granite surrounds and a beautiful picture of a Scottish thistle given to me by George and Etta Leadbetter adorning the front, I reckon it’s going to be a damned fine feature in this great big room…..and I’m getting far too excited about the warmth I’m hoping it will generate. You could get a small person into the firebox so I should be able to get a cracking blaze going in there…
I popped into the markets yesterday and got myself a nice container for the coal and a bucket for the ashes…all I need now is a fire !!
