If you’re looking for the perfect, peaceful break far from the madding crowd in a rural idyll, with the added bonus of staying in an extraordinary house, Southern Cross Bulgaria is the place for you.
Situated in the rural village of Miladinovtsi, Southern Cross is convenient for both the mountains and the coast. Here, you’re 2 hours from very beautiful mountains, an hour and a half from the coast and only 32 kilometres from Yambol, a thriving commercial centre full of Bulgarian character.
Miladinovtsi itself sits in a peaceful rural area at the base of a range of low mountains with one of the countries largest wine growing areas just a short drive away.
Within Miladinovtsi there’s a lake within easy walking distance and pleasant and attractive walking places all around the village. There is also incredible birdlife in the area for those of you who enjoy a little birdwatching.
The village has a cafe, two small shops and a warm and welcoming community. You’ll never be short of conversation here, even if you don’t speak a word of Bulgarian!
Here at Southern Cross I offer a variety of accommodations in comfortable surroundings.
There’s a choice of rooms either with en-suite bathrooms or a shared bathroom. Or you can rent an entire floor at a price we can discuss.
B&B Tariffs:
Single: 45levs per person per night
Double: 65 levs per room
Evening meals by arrangement at 30 levs per person.
There’s a pleasant garden area with a canopy of grape vines in summer – a lovely place to sit and relax or perhaps strike up the BBQ
I can also organise hire cars and airport pick ups and drops off if and when required.
Getting here: If you fly into Istanbul (Turkey) you can get a bus to Bourgas with Nisliki bus company and then I can organise a taxi pick up to bring you to Miladinovtsi for approx. 100 levs or you can catch a bus to Yambol where I will meet you if I can, or I have an english speaking taxi driver who will bring you to me for around 25levs if I can’t.
If you fly into Burgas you can either get a taxi or bus to Yambol. Again, I can meet you at the bus station in Yambol or organise a taxi to bring you here.
If you fly into Sofia, you have the choice of bus, train or taxi. Approximate prices are: The train is 18 lev; the bus is 16 lev; and a taxi is around 300 lev. Again, if you travel by bus or train, we can pick you up in Yambol, if convenient.
